Verifying Remote Employee Documents: What the New Form I-9 Means to You

Form I-9 is changing. US Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS) issued a new form on August 1 with multiple changes. In addition, verification of remote employees’ documents is changing. COVID flexibility ended on July 31, and employers must scramble to complete physical document examinations for all employees hired within the last 3 years – unless they qualify for the new alternative procedure. And what role does E-Verify play in all of this? Confused? You won’t be after you attend Viventium’s upcoming webinar with Yonina F. Shineweather, CPA, to learn:
  • What’s changing on the I-9 and what’s staying the same;
  • When you can use the new form and when you must use it;
  • Why enrolling in E-Verify can streamline your remote hiring process;
  • How live video interactions enter the hiring process; and
  • Which verification practices may be deemed discriminatory.
