A sunny Saturday morning in Verona, New Jersey. A group of Viventium employees decked out in purple. A 1.2-mile walk to support a selfless children's charity. Music, food, laughter, good spirits. Paints quite the picture, doesn't it? We can (and
we do!) talk all day long about being remarkable, being different, and caring about people. But we know that talk is cheap, so that's why we decided to
do something truly remarkable and participate in the annual
Valerie Fund Walk on Saturday, June 10th. The
Valerie Fund is a nonprofit organization that provides support for the comprehensive health care of children with cancer and blood disorders. It was established in 1976 in memory of Valerie Goldstein, who lost her battle with cancer. Her parents founded the Valerie Fund in order to improve the lives and resources of children battling cancer - and those of their families, as well. It's a mission that rings very true for employees of a company so focused on empowering people and unlocking human potential. There's something very different about the energy among coworkers when you're in the office working on a project versus when you're out in the field supporting a charity. In both cases, you're working toward a common goal, that's true. But...
the energy that you feel when supporting a cause that benefits the community is just a little bit different.
It feels good to give back. You know your company culture has truly permeated your workplace when your employees live out your values of their own accord. Companies can mandate service days or organize company-wide involvement in charity work, but when our employees choose to dedicate their personal time to a greater cause, we know that they truly
live Viventium's values. They're really daring to live remarkably. And that's everything we can hope for.
